Turning an Animal Crossing island into a little corner of Hyrule just became easier. The latest Animal Crossing Zelda designs give players two free ways to bring Nintendo’s fantasy universe into their daily island life. Better still, they can complement an existing collection of Zelda furniture and decorations without requiring a major game update.

Announced on October 29, 2026, these additions celebrate 40 years of The Legend of Zelda. However, their real appeal goes beyond anniversary nostalgia: they offer another excuse to revisit a game where creativity remains one of the biggest attractions.

Why Animal Crossing Zelda designs are worth collecting

Six years after its original Nintendo Switch release in March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to give players reasons to return. Its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition also offers another way to experience island life. Although major content updates are no longer the focus, decorating homes, reshaping landscapes and sharing creations remain central to its appeal.

That makes Nintendo’s latest crossover particularly fitting. Instead of introducing a temporary activity or an elaborate new system, the company has released two custom designs that players can incorporate into their existing islands: a Triforce T-shirt and a Korok-inspired umbrella.

The shirt features one of Zelda’s most recognizable symbols, while the umbrella draws inspiration from the small forest spirits found throughout the series. Both offer a subtle way to connect two Nintendo franchises with very different styles.

For example, a woodland campsite, an autumn garden or a forest path could provide a fitting backdrop for the Korok umbrella. Meanwhile, the Triforce shirt works naturally with a medieval-inspired outfit or a room decorated with Zelda collectibles. These are creative suggestions rather than additional in-game rewards.

How to download the free Zelda designs and their codes

There are two official methods to obtain these designs. Players can visit Nintendo’s own island through the dream feature or download them directly through the Custom Designs Portal at the Able Sisters shop.

For the first method, lie down in a bed inside your Animal Crossing home and choose the option to dream. When Luna asks where you want to go, enter Nintendo’s official Dream Address: DA-6382-1459-4417. Once there, you can explore the island and collect the available custom designs.

If you would rather avoid the dream visit, head to the Able Sisters shop and access its custom design kiosk. Enter Creator ID MA-6818-1746-6029 to find Nintendo’s creations, or use the individual codes below:

Triforce T-shirt: MO-BJY7-XKPP-C724
Korok umbrella: MO-9FRX-HMW1-WXS6

After downloading them, the patterns will be available through the Custom Designs app on your NookPhone. This makes it easy to incorporate them into your character’s appearance and island activities.

There is one important condition: a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for these online features. Although the designs themselves are free, accessing their download methods requires an active subscription. Nintendo also warns that distribution may end without advance notice.

Zelda amiibo can turn an ordinary island into Hyrule

The new designs become more interesting when combined with Zelda content already available in New Horizons. Players who own compatible figures can scan The Legend of Zelda amiibo to unlock themed furniture and clothing through the Nook Shopping catalog.

Among the available decorations are a Triforce ornament, the legendary Master Sword displayed in its pedestal, heart containers and rupees. Together, these objects offer far more possibilities than a single outfit or accessory.

One approach is to create a small shrine surrounded by trees and stone pathways, using the Master Sword as its centerpiece. Another is to build a treasure room filled with rupees and Zelda memorabilia. Thanks to New Horizons’ terraforming tools, even the surrounding landscape can contribute to the atmosphere.

Furthermore, certain Zelda amiibo can introduce Tulin and Mineru, two familiar characters from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, to the player’s island. Their appearance adds another connection between the peaceful life simulator and Hyrule’s adventures.

It is worth distinguishing these rewards from the new downloadable patterns. The T-shirt and umbrella use custom design codes, while amiibo-related furniture and character appearances depend on scanning the appropriate figures.

Could Zelda’s 40th anniversary bring more surprises?

The timing gives this small crossover additional significance. The original The Legend of Zelda debuted in Japan in February 1986, making 2026 the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Nintendo is using the milestone to revisit its history, and New Horizons offers a natural place to celebrate that legacy.

There is also an interesting precedent. In 2021, Animal Crossing welcomed Super Mario-themed furniture and decorations, showing how Nintendo’s biggest franchises can find a home inside the island simulator. The Zelda additions follow that tradition without fundamentally changing how the game works.

Looking ahead, Nintendo is preparing Ocarina of Time amiibo for 2027. However, there is no confirmation that those figures will unlock additional Animal Crossing content. Any new rewards would need a separate announcement. For more on Nintendo’s upcoming figures, our Zelda amiibo release date theory for Switch 2 explores what could be coming next.

For now, the strongest reason to revisit New Horizons is simple: players can combine official Zelda decorations with their own ideas. Meanwhile, fans of relaxing adventures can also discover Humblets, a cozy open-world game arriving in 2027, which offers another take on the appeal of peaceful virtual worlds.

The Animal Crossing Zelda designs may be small additions, but they highlight what keeps this island adventure enjoyable years after launch. Rather than waiting for another major expansion, players can create their own tribute to Hyrule, one path, outfit and decorated room at a time. What would your ideal Zelda-inspired island look like?
