Getting a free five-star character is exciting. Keeping it is another matter. FGO is celebrating 100 million downloads worldwide with a generous reward campaign, but its biggest gift comes with a progression requirement that players cannot afford to ignore. Alongside a choice of 43 SSR Servants, the Japanese version is offering up to 100 Saint Quartz and several useful upgrade bonuses.
The celebration runs from November 7, 2026, at 21:00 JST (12:00 UTC) until November 21 at 12:59 JST (03:59 UTC) on iOS and Android. However, some important deadlines extend into December. Here is how to secure the rewards without losing your chosen character.
FGO players must complete several steps to keep their free SSR Servant
The headline reward is a special exchange ticket that lets players select one of 43 eligible 5★ Servants. The selection includes permanent-pool characters and story-summon Servants introduced through Ordeal Call II, also known as Id. Furthermore, story progress does not restrict which eligible story-summon character you can choose.
There are exclusions. Louhi, Dante Alighieri and Solomon are not part of the selection. More importantly, exchanging the ticket does not automatically guarantee permanent ownership. The character initially joins provisionally, making the final recruitment requirements just as important as claiming the ticket.
Follow these steps to obtain and permanently recruit your chosen Servant:
- Step 1 — Complete Orleans Section 1 by November 30 at 23:59 JST. Clear Section 1 of Singularity 1 to finish the limited mission that awards the special SSR exchange ticket.
- Step 2 — Collect the ticket by December 7 at 23:59 JST. Completing the mission is not enough if you forget to claim its reward before the collection deadline.
- Step 3 — Choose your Servant by December 14 at 23:59 JST. Visit Da Vinci’s Workshop and exchange the ticket for one of the 43 eligible five-star characters.
- Step 4 — Raise your selected Servant to level 60. The exchanged character must reach this level to qualify for permanent recruitment.
- Step 5 — Reach Bond level 5 by December 31 at 23:59 JST. Both the level and Bond requirements must be completed before this final deadline. Otherwise, the provisional Servant leaves your account.
Existing owners and early exchanges make the process easier
There is one useful exception for established accounts. If you already own the same Servant and that character meets both recruitment conditions, the newly exchanged copy joins permanently immediately. This makes the campaign particularly convenient for players strengthening an existing favorite.
For everyone else, the safest approach is to make the exchange early rather than waiting until mid-December. Choosing a character sooner gives you more time to work toward Bond level 5, which may become the more demanding part of the process.
FGO offers up to 100 Saint Quartz through three different rewards
The free SSR is only part of the celebration. According to the official Fate/Grand Order 100 million downloads announcement, players can earn up to 100 Saint Quartz by combining three separate campaign activities. However, each has its own availability window or completion conditions.
Here is the complete breakdown of the other confirmed campaign gifts and bonuses:
- 10 Saint Quartz from a special 24-hour quest. Available from November 7 at 21:00 JST until November 8 at 20:59 JST. Players must clear the Fuyuki Prologue to participate. The first clear awards 10 Saint Quartz, while additional clears provide repeatable quest rewards. A worldwide counter tracks clears across all language versions.
- 60 Saint Quartz from the three-day login celebration. Running from November 8 at 04:00 JST until November 11 at 03:59 JST, this bonus gives 30 Saint Quartz during the first daily window and another 30 during the second. Players must clear the Fuyuki Prologue to qualify.
- One Holy Grail. The third daily login reward is available during the final window of the special three-day login campaign.
- 30 additional Saint Quartz from limited missions. These celebration objectives remain available until November 30 and contribute the final portion of the advertised 100 Saint Quartz.
- A special 4★ Craft Essence. The limited missions also award “祝花の汀”, which adds 50 Master EXP when clearing quests.
- Character enhancement materials. Limited mission rewards include 5★ EXP materials and stat-boosting Fous.
- 10 million QP. The celebration missions provide additional resources for character development.
- Extra login bonuses for new and returning players. Separate incentives are available to eligible accounts during the celebration.
The FGO Saint Quartz total depends on timing
The Saint Quartz total is straightforward: 10 from the special quest, 60 from the login event and 30 from celebration missions. Together, these add up to 100 Saint Quartz. Nevertheless, this is a maximum obtainable amount, not an unconditional gift deposited into every account.
Timing matters most for the special quest, since its 24-hour availability makes it considerably easier to miss than the longer mission campaign. Similarly, players should check the three daily login windows rather than assume all login rewards can be collected at once.
The free Servant becomes easier to train during the celebration
There is another reason to exchange the ticket promptly. Throughout the two-week celebration, the chosen SSR earns double EXP when enhanced. In addition, Great and Super success rates are tripled when enhancing Servants and Craft Essences, while all daily quests are available at half their usual AP cost.
These bonuses work particularly well together. Lower AP costs make daily farming more accessible, and enhanced EXP gains help players move their selected character toward level 60. The higher success rates can also make upgrade resources more rewarding, although individual enhancement outcomes are not guaranteed.
Furthermore, exchanged Servants receive a 50% attack boost in certain quests until November 30. While this bonus does not apply universally, it offers an additional incentive to use the newly selected character during the early stages of the celebration.
For players planning their time, the distinction is simple. Use the two-week event to accelerate leveling, then leave enough time before December 31 to complete the Bond requirement. A character reaching level 60 is only halfway through the permanent recruitment conditions if Bond level 5 remains unfinished.
The Japanese campaign does not confirm rewards for the English version
Although the milestone celebrates worldwide downloads, the announced reward campaign applies to the Japanese version of Fate/Grand Order. Its official notice does not confirm an equivalent giveaway for the English version. Therefore, players using other servers should not assume that the same ticket, login bonuses or deadlines will automatically apply to their accounts.
The distinction is especially relevant for mobile gacha players who follow announcements across different regional versions. Battle4Play recently covered Wuthering Waves 3.8 maintenance compensation and its eligibility conditions, another example of why checking reward requirements matters before planning around free currency.
Likewise, limited availability can shape the experience of mobile players in very different ways. The upcoming Ratchet & Clank Ranger Rumble mobile shutdown shows how regional access and deadlines can affect what players are actually able to enjoy. In this case, FGO’s worldwide milestone should not be confused with a worldwide rollout of identical gifts.
For Japanese-version players, the priority is clear: complete the short-lived quest, collect the login bonuses, secure the SSR ticket and begin training the selected Servant as soon as possible. The campaign offers substantial value without requiring a lucky summon, but its most attractive reward still demands follow-through.
Ultimately, the FGO 100 million downloads celebration is more than a free character giveaway. It is an opportunity to strengthen an account with a chosen five-star Servant and up to 100 Saint Quartz. Just remember that December 31 is the deadline that determines whether your new SSR stays for good.
