NTE 1.5 Update Turns Hethereau Into a City of New Activities

Hotta Studio’s November update brings business management, street-building puzzles and online tank battles alongside two new playable characters.

Running a delivery business, designing streets with playing cards and battling other players in tanks might sound like activities from three separate games. However, the NTE 1.5 update brings them together in one city. Hotta Studio is expanding what players can do in Hethereau, giving its supernatural open-world RPG a stronger focus on everyday activities alongside combat and exploration.

Called Once Upon a Glitched Call, the free update arrives on November 11, 2026. Its biggest surprise may not be another character to collect, but how much more varied city life is about to become.

NTE 1.5 update makes city jobs more ambitious

Hethereau already offers more than missions and battles. Players can drive through its streets, explore an urban environment and take on delivery work. Now, City Logistics introduces a management system that turns those familiar truck jobs into something closer to a business simulation.

Instead of handling every delivery personally, players will be able to hire staff and assign jobs. This adds a tycoon-style element to an existing activity, potentially making logistics more appealing to players who enjoy managing operations rather than simply driving between destinations. City Logistics will run from November 11 until December 23.

Another experiment arrives on December 2. Tycoon’s Deck uses cards to lay out streets and construct buildings through business-themed puzzles. Available until December 23, it offers a more strategic way to interact with the idea of building a city, although Hotta Studio has not presented it as a full construction simulator.

Tank battles bring a different kind of competition

While business management encourages a more measured pace, Full Tank Ahead takes Hethereau in the opposite direction. This online competitive event puts players behind the controls of tanks for king-of-the-hill-style encounters, where holding territory becomes the central objective.

The event runs from November 11 through December 23. Meanwhile, two additional vehicles are joining the game, including a tank. Together, these additions broaden the role of transportation beyond simply travelling between objectives.

There is an interesting contrast here. One activity asks players to organize a delivery operation, while another encourages them to fight over control of an area. Both support the same wider idea: Hethereau should offer reasons to stay beyond completing the main story.

Elyms, Exe and Invalid Number expand the supernatural story

The update also delivers more traditional action RPG content. Elyms and Exe join the playable character roster, giving players new characters to pursue within NTE’s gacha-based progression system.

Meanwhile, a new main story episode takes the adventure further into the city’s supernatural mysteries. Players will also be able to explore Invalid Number, a new area that fits the update’s digital-glitch theme. This ensures that players primarily interested in narrative progression still have something substantial to anticipate.

That balance is important for a game built around two different attractions: supernatural action and a modern urban playground. Rather than concentrating exclusively on battles or character collection, Hotta Studio is developing activities that make its fictional city feel more versatile. A staggered event calendar gives players more reasons to return

Not everything arrives simultaneously. November 11 marks the beginning of City Logistics and Full Tank Ahead, whereas Tycoon’s Deck starts on December 2. This staggered schedule means players will encounter fresh activities during the update rather than receiving every major minigame on launch day.

Additional events include Hunter’s Crucible, Fishing Frenzy, Pixel Surge and Beyond the Rails: Frozen Circle. The version’s event calendar extends through December 23, although individual activities have their own availability windows.

For newcomers, NTE: Neverness to Everness is a free-to-play open-world action RPG developed by Hotta Studio and published by Perfect World Games. It launched globally on April 29, 2026, following its April 23 debut in China. The game is available on PS5, PC, iOS and Android, with PC distribution through Steam, Epic Games Store and its own launcher. Players following console releases can also browse Battle4Play’s PS5 gaming coverage.

Hotta Studio outlined the upcoming additions during its official preview livestream, offering a closer look at how the next version combines new adventures with optional city activities. Players can also visit the official NTE Steam page for more information about the game.

Why this update matters beyond the new characters

For a free-to-play RPG, regular content updates help maintain player interest. However, adding another story chapter is different from expanding the activities available between chapters. The latter can give players new ways to enjoy an established world without always pursuing the next combat challenge.

That is the most promising idea behind version 1.5. City Logistics builds upon an existing job system, Tycoon’s Deck introduces a compact construction challenge, and Full Tank Ahead creates a competitive diversion. None of these activities alone changes the entire game, but together they make Hethereau a more flexible setting.

Ultimately, the NTE 1.5 update will be judged by how enjoyable these systems are after their novelty wears off. With November 11 approaching, the question is whether players will spend more time managing businesses and driving tanks than chasing their next supernatural mystery.
