Pokopia Dazzling Decorations Changes How You Customize Towns

The December expansion brings outfits and new neighbors, while a separate free event offers another reason to rebuild your Pokémon habitats.

Pokémon Pokopia is about to give its growing communities a different kind of makeover. Instead of asking players to start rebuilding somewhere new, Pokopia Dazzling Decorations will focus on the places and Pokémon they already know. The second Expansion Pass chapter arrives on December 9, 2026, but there is another important date to remember: a free event begins in November, giving every player something to do before the paid DLC launches.

Pokopia Dazzling Decorations puts your Pokémon neighbors in the spotlight

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Dazzling Decorations launches on December 9, 2026, bringing new accessories, furniture, items and Pokémon to befriend. Players will be able to dress up Ditto, their playable character, alongside the Pokémon living in their settlements.

The official screenshots give this update a particularly playful identity. Skitty, Snubbull, Doduo, Pikachu and Meowscarada appear wearing accessories such as sunglasses and bow ties. Rather than simply placing more objects around town, players can now experiment with how their Pokémon neighbors look.

There is an important distinction, however. Part 2 does not introduce another town. That makes it fundamentally different from Bubbly Basin and its underwater exploration, which arrived on August 5 as the first Expansion Pass chapter.

For players who spend hours arranging furniture, designing habitats and taking screenshots, this new direction could be particularly appealing. A familiar settlement can feel different when its residents have more personality. However, anyone primarily interested in exploring another location should keep their expectations in check.

Three requests stand between players and the December DLC

Buying the Expansion Pass alone will not be enough to access everything immediately. Players must also install the free version 3.0.0 software update and complete specific requests during their adventure.

In Withered Wasteland, the required objectives are “Raise the environment level!” and “Rebuild the Pokémon Center!”. In addition, players need to finish Drifloon’s “Find a doll!” request. Anyone returning after several months away should therefore check their unfinished objectives before December 9.

Expansion Pass purchasers also receive a recipe for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper. Another bonus comes through a code sent to the email address linked to the player’s Nintendo Account, containing 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. The code can be obtained until August 31, 2027, and redeemed in the game until September 30, 2027.

No new pricing has been announced for this second chapter. The DLC remains part of the existing paid Expansion Pass, rather than a newly announced standalone purchase.

A free Applin event arrives before the paid expansion

Players who do not own the Expansion Pass will still have something new to enjoy. Apples to Applin runs from November 16 at 5:00 a.m. until December 1 at 4:59 a.m., 2026. Unlike Dazzling Decorations, this limited-time activity is available to everyone who meets the software requirement.

During the event, Applin visits town and asks Ditto to gather Syrupy Apples. Players can exchange these apples for themed rewards, including furniture. More importantly, the items can help create habitats that attract Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin and Hydrapple.

This makes the event more interesting than a straightforward furniture giveaway. Its rewards connect directly with Pokopia’s habitat-building loop, offering another reason to experiment with how objects are arranged and which Pokémon might settle nearby.

Participation requires software version 2.0.1 or later. Players can check their installed version through the game’s Options menu on the Nintendo Switch 2 HOME Menu.

Meanwhile, anyone looking for additional decorations can also claim the D1VE1NTHESEA Mystery Gift furniture set, a separate promotion previously covered by Battle4Play. It provides another way to expand a collection without purchasing the December DLC.

Why the next town is being saved for 2027

Pokémon Pokopia launched exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026. Published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, the life simulator was developed by Koei Tecmo in collaboration with Game Freak. Since release, its post-launch roadmap has combined larger expansions with smaller activities and rewards.

That distinction helps explain the three-part Expansion Pass. Bubbly Basin introduced an underwater town in August. Dazzling Decorations concentrates on customization this December. Finally, Part 3 is planned for 2027 and will add another town to explore and rebuild.

The sequence creates two different incentives to return. New destinations provide longer-term construction projects, while outfits and decorations give players reasons to revisit completed settlements. It is a sensible fit for a life simulator, where personalizing existing spaces can be just as rewarding as opening new ones.

Pokopia has already experimented with smaller creative experiences outside its main expansion schedule. For example, Battle4Play previously explored the PokémonXP Cloud Island and its building inspiration, which gave players another way to discover decorative ideas without introducing a permanent new town.

The September teaser established that more accessories were coming, but November’s announcement finally gives players a firm date and clear requirements. Further information is available through The Pokémon Company’s official news portal.

Ultimately, Pokopia Dazzling Decorations is less about making the world bigger and more about making existing communities feel personal. With a free Applin event arriving first and another town scheduled for 2027, the coming months offer different reasons to return. Would you rather customize your Pokémon neighbors or start rebuilding an entirely new settlement?
