Harvest Moon DLC: Is the $24.99 Season Pass Worth It?

Nine expansions will bring new romance options, animals and adventures through 2027, but choosing the right packs could save players money.

Buying every expansion for Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea could become considerably more expensive than expected. With nine additional content packs scheduled through 2027, Natsume is giving players plenty of reasons to revisit its farming adventure. However, the real question surrounding the Harvest Moon DLC lineup is whether its $24.99 Season Pass offers better value than choosing individual expansions.

There is more at stake than decorative farm animals. New marriage candidates, unexplored locations, tougher mining challenges and additional storylines are all on the way. Consequently, understanding what each pack offers could make a difference before spending anything.

Harvest Moon DLC prices make the Season Pass an interesting deal

Natsume has confirmed nine expansions, with the first already available and the remaining releases extending into 2027. Players can purchase each pack separately or choose the $24.99 Season Pass, which includes all current and upcoming content.

Here is where the numbers become interesting. The six expansions with announced US prices already total $37.94 when purchased individually. That is $12.95 more than the Season Pass, even before accounting for the three additional packs planned for later in 2027.

Nevertheless, buying everything is not necessarily the smartest choice. Someone interested only in new romance options might prefer December’s two story expansions. Meanwhile, players who simply want colorful livestock could spend considerably less on January’s animal packs. The Season Pass becomes more attractive as the number of desired expansions increases.

New marriage candidates could be the biggest reason to return

December 2026 looks particularly important for players who enjoy relationships and character-driven adventures. Two $9.99 expansions will introduce new marriage candidates, although their stories take the game in different directions.

Gorgan’s Family Dispute brings Zog, Gorgan’s younger brother, back to Quarrytop Mine. He believes his sibling has become too sympathetic toward humans, creating a conflict players must help resolve. Beyond introducing Zog as a marriage candidate, the expansion adds challenging mine floors, a mining discount pass and additional requests.

Nera’s Rescue Operation offers a different experience. Nera discovers Emmy, an aspiring actress who has washed ashore on a remote island. Helping her settle into Teradea opens another romantic possibility. Furthermore, players gain access to Treasure Island, a new exploration area, alongside a Fishing Zone discount pass and extra missions.

These additions matter because Echoes of Teradea combines farming with a broader adventure. Its world is already threatened by mysterious mist from the Forest of Echoes, dangerous creatures after dark and disasters affecting nearby villages. Therefore, expanding the cast and opening new destinations can give players fresh reasons to explore beyond their daily agricultural routines.

That balance between everyday life and discovery also appears in other upcoming games. For example, Witchbrook’s magical life simulation approaches relationships and personal activities through a very different setting, while placing similar importance on building connections with its inhabitants.

From new crops to rideable animals: what arrives in 2027?

The first expansion, Merus’s Dilemma, launched on October 29 for $6.99. It focuses on an electrical problem in Maplehill Town caused by inventor Merus. Helping residents deal with the consequences unlocks additional story content and requests.

Its practical rewards include a Harvest Goddess Tools upgrade, four refrigerator designs, new cheese and tomato varieties, and six cooking recipes. For players who spend most of their time improving their farm, these additions may be more useful than purely cosmetic rewards.

January 2027 shifts attention toward livestock. The Mooberry Cow Pack adds pink Mooberry Cows and a retro outfit for $1.99. Meanwhile, the equally priced Moonana Cow Pack introduces a yellow Moonana Cow and another retro-themed outfit. Steam players should also note that the Mooberry pack is free with a game purchase made between October 15 and November 11, 2026.

March brings Lupo Wants to Explore, priced at $6.99. This expansion turns Lupo into a rideable mount, introduces legendary animals across different regions and continues the story. Unlike the smaller livestock packs, it promises an additional way to travel through Teradea.

Three more expansions will follow later in 2027: Gaston the Gourmet, Sweet & Smart Home Pack and the Harvest Moon 30th Anniversary Pack. Their individual US prices have not been confirmed in the announced roadmap.

The anniversary content is especially noteworthy. Although its specific features remain undisclosed, it will arrive during a milestone year for the franchise. Since 2014, Natsume has continued developing games under the Harvest Moon name, while the original Japanese series from Marvelous has been released in Western markets as Story of Seasons.

A new Switch update makes the current adventure more stable

Alongside its paid content plans, Natsume has released patch 1.3.0 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The update fixes a crash that could occur after completing Tidewind Chapter 1, slightly increases camera speed and addresses several minor interface problems.

These improvements are worth separating from the paid expansions. A more reliable experience benefits existing players regardless of whether they purchase the Season Pass. Moreover, smoother progression is particularly welcome in a game where exploration and completing regional stories are important parts of the adventure.

Developed by Natsume and IMAGICA GEEQ, Echoes of Teradea launched in October 2026, including a Steam release on October 15. Its combination of farming, relationships and exploration places it within a growing selection of games built around flexible daily activities. Battle4Play has also explored how Spirit Crossing emphasizes personal freedom and relaxed progression, although its multiplayer-focused design is notably different.

For players considering the Harvest Moon DLC lineup, the decision ultimately depends on what they enjoy most. Two December expansions cost $19.98 together, making them a reasonable alternative for anyone primarily interested in new marriage candidates. However, adding Merus’s Dilemma would bring that total to $26.97, already exceeding the Season Pass price.

The $24.99 pass makes the strongest financial case for players planning to experience several major expansions. Those interested in only one storyline or a couple of colorful cows can spend less by purchasing selectively. With Teradea’s adventures continuing through 2027, which addition would convince you to return to your farm?
