Pluto joins Disney Dreamlight Valley as Mickey Mouse’s loyal pet during the Puppy Love update. Unlike regular villagers, Pluto cannot be unlocked through a single questline. Instead, players must complete multiple time-gated missions tied to the Lady and the Tramp realm.
Pluto functions as a companion rather than a full character, meaning he can follow Dreamers around the valley once unlocked.
Requirements Before Starting
To begin the process, players must first unlock the Lady and the Tramp realm and invite both Lady and Tramp to live in the valley. Without completing this step, Pluto’s quests will not trigger.
Complete the Required Quest Chain
Unlocking Pluto requires finishing a multi-part storyline that unfolds across several days. The quests include:
- Canine Courtship
- The Jailbreak
- Meatballs
- Critters and Compassion
- The Spaghetti Incident
The Spaghetti Incident Quest
After completing the earlier quests, Merlin will send a letter alerting players that something strange is happening at the Dream Castle. Head there to collect rolling spaghetti before speaking with Lady.
Players must equip the Snout item and follow the scent trail from the castle to Dazzle Beach, then continue tracking it into the Mystical Cave. Collect all scattered spaghetti and return to Lady to receive a memory orb, completing the quest.
Time-Gated Quests
Additional missions unlock on specific dates. One quest involves helping villagers deal with oversized meatballs inside a canine’s home. Later, Magical Marinara Tomatoes appear in an unusual location and must be investigated.
These staggered unlocks mean players cannot complete the entire process in one sitting.
How to Use Mementos
Throughout the questline, players collect Mementos. While their immediate purpose is not clearly explained, they are required to invite Pluto to the valley once all related quests are finished.
It is recommended to store Mementos safely in your inventory or storage to avoid accidentally discarding them.
Pluto as a Companion
After completing all quest steps and using the Mementos correctly, Pluto becomes available as a companion. He does not offer dialogue or story interactions but can accompany players around the valley.
